Main Purpose of Job


As a skilled nurse at Mediclinic Newcastle, you will deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in collaboration with a multi-professional team.


Key Responsibilities



  • Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care in line with the Scope of Practice.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
  • Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
  • Develop and maintain a learning environment that fosters staff competence.
  • Ensure accurate charging of utilised stock and equipment.

Required Experience



  • Essential: None
  • Desired: 1 year post-graduate qualification experience for placement in a specialised unit.

Required Education



  • Essential: Degree/Diploma in General Nursing with Midwifery.
  • Desired: Postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty area.

  • Infection prevention and control.
  • Pharmacology.
  • Scientific nursing principles and processes.
  • Nursing record keeping.
  • Patient assessment skills.
  • Nursing processes and procedures.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Development of nursing care plans.
  • Relevant nursing legislation.
  • Basic life support training (ACLS; ATLS; PALS for specialised wards).
  • Risk identification.
