Role Summary

The Royal Air Force is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physical Training Instructor to join our team. As a Physical Training Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering fitness programs to RAF personnel, promoting healthy lifestyles, and encouraging individuals to achieve their fitness goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fitness programs for RAF personnel, including group exercise classes and one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Conduct fitness assessments and provide personalized feedback to individuals
  • Organize and lead sporting and adventure activities, such as team sports and outdoor excursions
  • Manage and maintain a range of sporting facilities, including gyms, sports fields, and swimming pools

Requirements

  • GCSE at Grade C or Scottish National 5 grade C in English Language and Mathematics
  • Registration with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) or other governing bodies
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer Award registered with CIMSPA or other governing bodies
  • Two years' experience teaching physical education within the last five years
  • Aged 16 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
  • Citizen of the UK or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status)
  • Commit to minimum 3 years of service after specialist training

Training and Development

  • Basic Recruit Training Course at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire
  • Specialist training course at the School of Physical Training, RAF Cosford near Wolverhampton
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities, including Level 3 Personal Trainer Apprenticeship
