Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Management: Oversee all aspects of production, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and proactively addressing any potential risks.
  • Performance Management: Implement and manage performance metrics to drive efficiency and productivity within the production team, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance operational performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor, using lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a skilled production team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless production operations, and liaise with senior management to report on production performance and propose strategic improvements.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the production budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on quality or safety.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Ideally, you will be working in a production management role, but we will consider technical management or team leading/supervisory roles within the rolling stock, aviation, armed forces, automotive, or bus industries.
  • Safety Certifications: Ideally, IOSH or NEBOSH certified.
  • Skills: Proven track record in safety and performance management, with a hands-on approach to leadership, strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is desirable.
  • Other Requirements: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
