Job Title: Senior Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Engineer to join our Diagnostic Cardiology team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new and existing medical devices, application software, and associated accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of embedded firmware using C and low power electronics design for new and existing medical devices.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and support functional and project managers with planning and reporting.
  • Design and implement digital filters, interface with other devices via Bluetooth and USB, and develop test harness and tools using C#/.NET.
  • Work as part of the hardware team to implement product development plans and generate design documentation.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified with at least 5 years' experience in a product design environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Microprocessor firmware development experience for low power devices and a firm analytical and practical understanding of fundamental electronic theory.
  • Experience in both analogue and digital design through full product lifecycles and a high degree of self-motivation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Design and implementation of digital filters.
  • Interfacing with other devices via Bluetooth and USB.
  • Development of test harness and tools using C#/.NET.
  • Use of circuit simulation packages.
  • Schematic capture and PCB design for small form-factor products.
  • ISO or similar quality systems.
  • IEC family/IEC standards.
  • Previous work with medical devices.
