Job Summary
As a Senior Clinical Scientist in our Cytogenetics team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic testing for a range of molecular and cytogenetic investigations. You will work closely with our team of experts to develop and implement new testing protocols, and provide expert advice to clinicians and other healthcare professionals on the interpretation of results.

Key Responsibilities
Undertake clinical, scientific, technical, and managerial duties with a high degree of autonomy
Take a high level of responsibility for your own work, with ultimate responsibility for quality, accuracy, and interpretation of results resting with more senior Clinical Scientists
Communicate complex scientific and technical information to other healthcare professionals
Participate in the teaching and training of pre-registration clinical scientists and genetic technologists
Supervise junior scientific and technical staff in their day-to-day activities

Requirements
Good first degree in Genetics or Biological Science with a genetics component
Postgraduate professional qualification (Certificate of Competence in Clinical Cytogenetics/STP) or equivalent experience
Registration as a Clinical Scientist (Clinical Cytogenetics or Genetics)
PhD/DPhil in a relevant subject area
Proven, extensive experience of Clinical Molecular Genetics in a diagnostic laboratory or similar
