Senior Radiochemist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radiochemist to join our team at the PET Centre, part of Kings College London and Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of radiochemists to develop and produce radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with GMP requirements.

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Radiochemist will be responsible for:

• Developing new tracers by performing practical validation work as directed by senior radiochemists;
• Supporting GMP compliance by performing practical validation work and updating SOPs as directed by senior radiochemists; and
• Supporting the training of other staff members, performing routine tasks and administrative work, and acting as the contact with the clinical team as required.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in chemistry or pharmacy, or equivalent experience and training;
• Knowledge of PET radiotracer synthesis and QC, as well as experience in a radiochemistry/radiopharmacy laboratory;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be appointed on an indefinite contract, working a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. The post holder will be required to participate in a production and QC rota system, with time schedules varying to meet service needs.
