About the Role
The R&D Support Technician role at Eviosys involves working closely with cross-functional teams to support laboratory functions for materials, product development projects, qualifications, and failure investigations.
Main activities include testing, gathering, recording, and interpreting data to support materials qualifications and technical support.
Key responsibilities involve characterisation and evaluation of packaging materials, including developing knowledge of prime materials, coatings, print, and other material requirements.
Other key responsibilities include laboratory and pilot line tests, evaluating container performance, and working closely with project managers and material scientists to understand correct testing procedures.
The role also involves gathering, interpreting, and recording data using computers and online systems, and operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting lab equipment and pilot line machinery.
Key Skills
Essential skills include laboratory experience, practical ability to work with minimal supervision, competent operating of equipment and machinery, and ability to record, summarise, and present data.
Desirable skills include science or engineering A-levels or NVQ Level 3 or degree, steel/tinplate/polymer packaging industry experience, and demonstrable know-how and skills in managing materials evaluations.
