Job Title: Principal Reliability & Safety Specialist

AWE Plc is currently recruiting for a Principal Reliability & Safety Specialist within the Capital Engineering group. As an experienced reliability and safety professional, you will work on a wide breadth of AWE's portfolio in terms of technical complexity and various projects at all different stages of their life cycle. Your role will involve acting as an internal consultant to AWE, providing expert advice on reliability and safety matters and promoting the discipline within the AWE community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and application of safety and reliability engineering in large complex production or manufacturing organisations, preferably within a highly regulated industry.
  • Proven AR&M plus safety engineering experience, ideally within the nuclear industry.
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Safety Integrity Level (SIL), CCF/CMF, and PFD calculations.
  • Substantiation of safety systems ensuring designs satisfy safety targets, e.g. Predicted Reliability performance of plant/process designs using appropriate techniques, e.g., dynamic Reliability Block Simulation (RBD), Markov, Chi Square and Weibull analysis.
  • Experience of using operational data usage to conduct in service plant/process Reliability performance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Comfortable navigating Failure rate data sources.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree (minimum HNC/HND) in an Engineering discipline.
  • Use of Software packages including Availability Workbench, Reliability Workbench & FaultTree+, RAMP.
