Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Norse Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and management of mechanical services for all construction projects across a variety of building works.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage mechanical services projects, including producing budget estimates, drawings, detailed service specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Promote the use of renewable technologies and deliver mechanical projects in full in accordance with clients' brief and professional standards.
  • Supervise, direct, and manage the Mechanical engineering team, including team resource planning, management, and monitoring of workload.
  • Input to office resource plan and monitoring of profile and loss on all projects to ensure that projects are run efficiently.
  • Prepare schemes, including the use of CAD, produce budget costs, detailed specifications, analyze tenders, and supervise installations.
  • Act as the single point of contact on specific engineering issues across a range of clients.
  • Promote and manage the competitive, efficient, and effective delivery of mechanical services installations and energy management services to clients.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
  • Frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers and working or prepared to work towards Chartered status.
  • Extensive experience in a similar related role.
  • HNC/HND in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in a similar related role.
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain.
  • Familiar with construction, health, and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos.
