About the Role:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of build and repairs for a commercial vehicle garage. This role requires close interaction with customers, dealerships, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure efficient production and delivery of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide build updates and manage last-minute changes to the build specifications.
  • Conduct on-site meetings with customers alongside the Sales Manager.
  • Estimations and quotations - these can be drive-ins.
  • Coordinate chassis deliveries and chase Certificates of Conformity (COCs).
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager and Workshop Supervisor to plan and schedule work.
  • Oversee the new build production process in coordination with the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Plan and manage the paintwork process for new build vehicles.
  • Order necessary parts, including stock items (with long lead items ordered by the Director).
  • All aspects of Health & Safety.
  • Lead daily production meetings with the Workshop Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong MS Office experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle production processes and type approval requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
