Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Change and Circular Economy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sustainable industry and agribusiness team, you will support the development and implementation of low-carbon investments, policy dialogue activities, and market/sector/country analytics.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with regional and banking teams to identify investment opportunities for climate and sustainable resource technologies.
  • Under the supervision of the Head of Sustainable Industry and Agribusiness, you will lead the identification and structuring of capital investment appraisals of sustainable resource investments and review associated implementation and operational risks.
  • You will undertake marketing and business development efforts in relevant sectors and countries to build reputable market contacts and develop deal flow and cross-selling of the Bank's competencies.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the development and implementation of technical assistance assignments to ensure GET investment activity.
  2. Deliver policy dialogue assignments and formulate policy dialogue interventions required to put in place and improve regulations enabling GET investments.
  3. Support the delivery of relevant market/sector/country analytics to inform investment programmes.
  4. Assist in providing necessary support for meeting participation towards efforts to procure grants and technical cooperation funds to complement investment projects or required as part of policy dialogue effort.
Requirements
  • A minimum Master's degree in a technical, engineering, or science discipline (e.g., food/process/chemical/industrial/engineering).
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Paris Agreement and Low Carbon Roadmaps/Pathways.
  • Understanding of policy analysis and formulation in areas of climate change, resource efficiency, energy efficiency, technology transfer, and energy.
  • Knowledge and experience with energy/resource efficiency technologies and practices, with a strong awareness and interest in related issues.
  • Computer literacy and excellent written/oral communication skills in English are essential.
