Job Title: Transport Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to join our team at XPO Transport Solutions UK Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our transport operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Transport Manager in the overall running of a safe, efficient, and cost-effective transport operation.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are carried out to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with the Distribution Centre and Stores teams.
  • Deputise for the Shift Manager in their absence.
  • Oversee and direct the clerks on your shift, ensuring the defect, pre-brief, and de-brief process is adhered to.
  • Investigate and escalate vehicle accidents and damaged deliveries.
  • Liaise with Microlise on non-tracking assets and ensure investigations are completed.
  • Monitor driver performance and compliance, including Tachomaster reporting and driver scoring.
  • Ensure all good-to-go assets are back in service by liaising with shunters.
Requirements:
  • A proven track record as a Transport Supervisor or Transport Shift Manager in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microlise and Tachomaster systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in progressively more responsible roles within Operations or Planning.
  • Planning skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Transport management CPC would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent working knowledge of transport compliance.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire your team with a real drive for optimisation and continuous improvement.
