About the role
The North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Assistant to provide executive support to the council's Corporate Leadership Team. As an Executive Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the team and contributing to the council's vision of being 'A place where everyone has the best opportunities and quality of life.'
Key responsibilities
- Maintain realistic and manageable diaries for the Corporate Leadership Team.
- Organise and coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, ensuring timely responses to deadlines.
- Attend and minute meetings, providing accurate and detailed records.
- Remain conversant with workloads for the Corporate Leadership Network, assisting with workload management and fielding enquiries on service issues.
- Liaise with members of the public and elected Members on behalf of colleagues in the Corporate Leadership Network.
- Undertake tasks for the team, project work, and research as directed, with minimal supervision.
- Receive, sort, and prioritise mail and emails, redirecting as appropriate and responding to routine correspondence.
- Provide cover across the team as and when required.
- Support colleagues in the Executive Support Team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a good level of general education to GCSE standard in Mathematics and English or equivalent, along with advanced IT skills in MS Office, plus NVQ 3 or equivalent, or a willingness to train.
Previous experience of working as an Executive Assistant and substantial experience in using IT systems, such as Word processing, spreadsheets, internet, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. You will be aware of the requirement for confidentiality at all times.
You must have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, establish good working relationships, arrange conferences and meetings, act on your own initiative, contribute positively at team meetings, and have excellent communication skills, both orally and written.
