We are a friendly and inclusive special needs school in Abingdon, providing high-quality education to children with Autism. Our dedicated team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students, and we are now seeking a Graduate to join our team as an Autism/Speech and Language Assistant.
This role involves supporting pupils with primary diagnostic needs, helping them overcome communication challenges and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with our experienced staff to provide individualized support and contribute to a positive learning environment.
As a Graduate in this position, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, develop your skills, and make a real impact on the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with primary diagnostic needs in achieving their educational goals
- Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote communication and social skills
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Speech Therapy)
- Experience working with children with Autism or similar conditions (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational setting
