About the Role

Baltic Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Functional Skills Tutor to join our team on a permanent basis. This exciting opportunity will see you work with learners across the UK, delivering Functional Skills qualifications in English and mathematics up to Level 2.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the safeguarding of learners throughout the program.
  2. Maintain a safe environment for all staff and learners.
  3. Teach Functional Skills qualifications, conducting initial assessments, diagnostic assessments, and administering exams.
  4. Interpret knowledge requirements suitable for learners at all levels.
  5. Support learners in achieving their goals.
  6. Develop and adapt learning materials as needed.
  7. Provide continuous feedback to learners on their progress.
  8. Record attendance and track student progress.
  9. Share best practices and resources in training, learning, and assessment.
  10. Participate in standardization meetings.
  11. Maintain a safe and healthy training environment.
  12. Comply with administrative duties.
  13. Be flexible to support business needs.
Requirements
  1. Show an understanding of safeguarding issues and contribute to a protective environment.
  2. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Be IT literate.
  4. Be able to work effectively across all levels and engage with people accordingly.
  5. Exhibit attention to detail and produce high-quality work.
  6. Show good personal organization, time management, and administrative skills.
  7. Be self-motivated and a team player.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  1. Hold a recognized teaching qualification.
  2. Have a good understanding of Safeguarding and Prevent.
  3. Working towards or hold the A1/TAQA/D32/33 Assessor qualification.
  4. Experience in delivering Functional Skills (English and Mathematics) up to level 2.
  5. Experience in training in an educational or workplace setting.
  6. Relevant industrial experience (warehouse/manufacturing/cleaning).
  7. Be flexible and adaptable to meet role demands.
  8. Understand compliance paperwork and reviews.
  9. Demonstrate behavior consistent with educational values.
  10. Commit to ongoing professional development.
Travel Arrangements

This role involves frequent travel, including potentially staying in a hotel three out of four weeks depending on the location. Travel expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile, hotels are pre-booked, an evening meal allowance up to £16 is provided, and a mobile phone bill up to £50 per month is paid.
