We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team at Reed Specialist Recruitment. As a Logistics Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to our on-site customers, responding to their queries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Shipping and Logistics: Prepare shipping and transport quotations, book dispatches with hauliers, forwarders, dispatch depots, and shipping lines, and create invoices, packing lists, collection/dispatch notes, and other related export documentation.
  • Administrative Tasks: Enter bookings into our bespoke shipment software, manage specific projects, expedite shipments, process supplier and customer invoices, and ensure costs are correct on the software.
  • Communication: Answer telephone calls, expedite orders and shipments, and deal with inter-company and external queries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reporting and Escalation: Report and escalate issues to the Manager as required, ensuring that all logistics and supply chain functions are running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Experience: Possess knowledge of shipping methods and terminology, with experience within a freight forwarding environment.
  • Technical Skills: Have intermediate experience of MS Office programs, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrate excellent numeracy, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong teamwork ethic and ability to work independently when required.
