Clinical Development Lead

Job Summary
As a Clinical Development Lead at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support and direction to community nursing staff within the locality. You will share your expertise with colleagues, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
Working closely with the Operational Team Lead, you will ensure staff are competent in their roles and that new staff are inducted and supported to reach the required level of competency. You will also implement evidence-based practice to ensure best patient care.
The Clinical Development Lead will provide enhanced clinical support and expertise to patients within their locality, promoting a service that prevents inappropriate or unscheduled hospital admissions and facilitates hospital discharge.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure care in the locality is based on sound assessment and care planning processes.
- Support staff transitioning to mobile working.
- Represent the service both internally and externally, communicating complex information to ensure people are fully informed.
- Ensure statutory and mandatory training has been undertaken by all team members.
- Responsible for the retention and recruitment, induction, personal and professional development of staff.
- Monitor clinical supervision, induction, preceptorship, and development of staff.
- Exercise leadership and judgment in the management of a Community Nursing Team to ensure good clinical practice and maintain high standards of care.
- Provide education opportunities and training for all staff and students, including pre- and post-registration nursing students.
- Develop district nursing practice in a defined area, developing and using relationships with other primary care team members.
- Ensure the service meets business and performance requirements of the Organisation in-line with service specification, contract, and CQUIN.
