Job Summary

Stirling Dynamics is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to join our Software & Electronic Hardware team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electronic systems for electro-mechanical products, projects, and services for leading Aerospace & Defence companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronics hardware for high-quality aerospace products.
  • Take products through the full lifecycle from requirements to production and customer delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a related discipline.
  • Registered Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
  • Strong understanding of electronics design principles and practices.
  • Experience with schematic entry and architecture definition.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Defined or influenced company standards for hardware development process.
  • Initiate process improvement and change management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Technical Requirements

  • Motor drives.
  • Analogue sensor interfaces.
  • SMPS design.
  • Failure protection circuits.
  • DFM - strong understanding of PCB manufacturing.
  • DFT - experience of EMC, RoHS and environmental testing.

Working Practices

  • Conducts design reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.
  • Worked to AS9100 or ISO9001 QMS.
  • Worked with Agile and/or Scrum environments.

Toolsets

  • Altium.
  • LTSpice.
  • Git, Jira & Confluence.
