About the Position

The Apprentice - Electrical Engineer position at Azenta, Inc. offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electrical engineering. You will work closely with experienced engineers to design and develop electronic systems, troubleshoot and debug electrical systems, and participate in failure mode analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Designing and developing electronic systems, including circuit design, component selection, and testing.
  2. Collaborating with other engineers to ensure that all projects meet the required specifications and standards.
  3. Troubleshooting and debugging of electrical systems, as well as participating in failure mode analysis.
  4. Developing required documentations during the development and for transfer to manufacturing (schematics, diagrams, BOM, test procedures, ...).

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 1+ years' experience, with a full understanding of product life cycle (from concept to production) as a key contributor.
  • Troubleshooting skills with PC and embedded software-controlled equipment; low and medium power electronics.
  • Good knowledge with cable and wire layout and management.
  • CAD software skills (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.) for cables, harness, and circuit design.
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Order processes and documentation.
  • Regulatory compliance experience for equipment (e.g., safety, emission, immunity) a plus.
  • Ability to design simple circuits (e.g., breakout board).
  • Product Engineering and sustaining engineering experience.
  • Make simple circuit designs and updating complex schematics/designs.
  • Experience in PCB schematic/layout using Altium Designer, ORCAD, or similar.
