About the Role
This challenging role offers the opportunity to work as a Hygiene Operative in Corby, UK. The main purpose is to work safely and efficiently to produce wheat-based products to specification while maintaining hygiene and food safety standards to the maximum. You will be responsible for controlling and operating the Milling plant from wheat intake to finished product transfer, ensuring other employees and contractors adhere to agreed procedures with particular reference to Health and Safety and Food Safety.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience on shift in a flour mill, preferably holding a UK flour millers/Nabim intermediate Flour Milling certificate. A strong background in problem-solving skills, good time management, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with common Microsoft Applications are essential. Additionally, previous experience within the food or manufacturing industry would be advantageous. In this role, you will support the Head Miller in operating and controlling the plant equipment and systems for the mill, screenroom, and finished product handling.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all work is performed with due diligence and conformity to current and future relevant legislation and company procedures.
- Supervise the shift site operative and ensure daily mill operations are completed to the correct standard.
- Support the Head Miller in operating and controlling the plant equipment and systems.
- Co-operate with the tech miller and engineering department to maintain plant efficiency.
- Analyze, diagnose, and rectify faults or problems affecting operational efficiency.
- Sampling and analysis of raw materials, internal stocks, and finished products.
- Maintain sufficient stocks of micro ingredients and additives.
- Contribute to cost control and innovation in process improvement.
- Work a 4 on/4off shift system (2 days, 2 nights) and provide holiday cover where applicable.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £32,000 - £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
