Key Responsibilities- Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:
You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status and formulate accurate diagnoses. This will involve utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews to gather relevant information, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to obtain a holistic understanding of patients' medical and psychosocial needs.
Treatment Planning and Management:You will develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment findings and evidence-based practices. This will include prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages and treatment modalities as necessary, as well as providing psychotherapy and counseling services.
Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment:You will respond to psychiatric emergencies and crises, conducting thorough risk assessments to ensure patient safety. This will involve coordinating with crisis intervention teams, emergency departments, and community mental health services to provide timely and appropriate interventions.
Collaborative Care and Multidisciplinary Teamwork:You will participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, share clinical insights, and coordinate care plans. This will involve communicating effectively with colleagues, including consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals.
Clinical Governance and Professional Development:You will adhere to professional standards, clinical guidelines, and legal requirements governing psychiatric practice. This will involve maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including patient records, progress notes, and treatment plans, as well as pursuing ongoing professional development through attendance at conferences, training programs, and continuing medical education activities.
Requirements- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry.
- Completion of core psychiatry training and relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MRCPsych).
- Demonstrated clinical competence in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of psychiatric disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational abilities, including time management, prioritization, and documentation skills.
This is a full-time position, with a salary of £85.00-£90.00 per hour and expected hours of 40 – 45 per week. You will also be eligible for a bonus scheme and yearly bonus.
We offer a range of benefits, including canteen facilities, flexitime, free parking, and an on-site parking facility. You will also be eligible for our referral program.
This role is for a day shift, Monday to Friday, with a GMC (preferred) licence/certification required.
