We're passionate about our people and seek out those with a genuine vocation for care or hospitality. As a chauffeur, you'll be responsible for:

  • Conducting regular vehicle checks to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintaining a pristine vehicle and adhering to excellent working standards.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by forecasting and responding to residents' questions and concerns.
  • Keeping a detailed vehicle logbook and regularly checking vital components like oil, water, and tyre pressures.
  • Working flexibly to ensure timely, safe, and dignified resident transportation.
  • Greeting residents with a professional and sincere smile, ensuring their door is open.
  • Assisting clients with loading and unloading their possessions as needed.
  • Adjusting the air temperature to meet residents' preferences.
  • Selecting the most efficient routes using GPS software and traffic updates, unless otherwise instructed.
  • Completing collections and deliveries on behalf of residents, if requested.
  • Abiding by all road regulations at all times.
  • Transferring residents using equipment and skills tailored to their specific needs, including wheelchair assistance.
  • Providing effective care to residents, utilising available equipment to cater to their requirements.
  • Transporting residents safely and comfortably.
  • Contributing to the development of care and support plans by regularly feeding back to the Life Enrichment & Wellbeing Lead and Nurse in Charge.
  • Executing tasks outlined in the resident's care and support plan, adopting a person-centred approach.
  • Fostering independence and motivation among residents, avoiding dependent behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including Resident Transport Records and Accident & Incident Reports, both paper and electronic.
  • Participating in required training to maintain acceptable standards and quality of care.
  • Holding a current, valid driving licence.
  • Adhering to KYN Policies & Procedures, Clinical Protocols, Quality Procedures, and other verbal or written instructions.
  • Performing other tasks aligned with the role as required by supervisory staff and managers.
About You

You'll need:

  • Experience working within private transport services or customer care environments.
  • Proficiency in driving various vehicles.
  • Strong communication skills, a courteous manner, and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure, flexibly, and consistently.
  • A trustworthy, caring, adaptable, friendly, patient, and excellence-driven attitude.
  • A Full driving licence with no more than 3 points and within the DVLA Group 2.
