About the Role

We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer II to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our GMST team, you'll be responsible for crafting scalable solutions that enhance business value and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop core features and functions of card transaction systems on our distributed platform deployed in the cloud.
  • Actively participate in agile teams and the latest development practices, writing code and unit tests, working with API specs and automation.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineers to aid in the development of engineers within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver high-quality solutions.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java, React, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring teams, with a passion for innovation and technical excellence.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
