Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations in Peckham. As the head of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for managing pantry, inventory, and food storage and preparation to maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pantry, inventory, and food storage and preparation to maintain quality standards
- Supervise and guide kitchen staff to deliver timely, quality food and exceptional customer service
- Order kitchen materials and ingredients based on menu and market demand
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with preventive maintenance measures
- Collaborate with Restaurant Managers on menu development, pricing, and portion sizes
- Schedule shifts based on business hours, days, and occasions
- Train employees on safe operation of kitchen equipment, proper handling of materials, and health & safety regulations
- Recruit, coach, and develop the kitchen team to foster a skilled and motivated workforce
- Control operational costs to keep within budget
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Culinary expertise with knowledge of authentic barbecue and bodega-style cuisine
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide and develop a customer-focused kitchen team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations
- Self-motivated with a passion for delivering outstanding food quality and customer satisfaction
