Job Title: Lead Java/Python Developer

Join Venture Up, a pioneering tech company, as we embark on a new venture in the motorsport industry. We're seeking an exceptional Lead Java/Python Developer to spearhead the development of our innovative racing software.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned Java and Python expert with a strong background in tech leadership and line management. As a Lead Developer, you'll collaborate with a talented team of engineers and a quant modeller to drive the growth of our platform. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the software's architecture and ensuring its scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of our racing software, leveraging your expertise in Java and Python to drive innovation and growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement new features, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality code.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with the quant modeller to develop data-driven solutions that enhance the racing team's decision-making capabilities.
  • Attend race days to witness the practical implementation of your work and gather valuable feedback from users.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 8+ years of experience in Java and Python, with a strong focus on APIs and software development.
  • Proven track record in tech leadership and line management, with a ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Active interest in the motorsport industry, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Experience with JavaScript and React is a plus, but not required.
  • Willingness to work on a product in its early stages of development and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Ability to travel for race days across England.
