A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Hardware Development Expert to join our team at ASSA ABLOY.

Salary:

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

As a key member of our R&D department, you will provide advanced technical and quality support for electronic products across ASSA ABLOY's Global Solutions division. Your expertise will help ensure the highest quality standards are met, and that our customers receive the best possible service.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritise support requests escalated to the Hardware Team
  • Provide support interface between R&D and the rest of the business to assist with Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware related issues
  • Fault-find to root cause/component level faulty parts and products
  • Build, rework, and repair Printed Circuit Assemblies including surface-mounted components
  • Devise tests and experiments to test prototypes and troubleshoot engineering and maintain our engineering lab including supporting equipment calibration schedules

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HNC or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
  • Ability to use Electronic Test Equipment such as Oscilloscopes and Multi-meters
  • Ability to read and interpret Schematic Diagrams and PCB layouts
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings as well as ability to use measurement and inspection equipment
  • Hands-on engineering skills (soldering, wiring, mechanical)
