Quality Inspector/CMM Operator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector/CMM Operator to join our client's quality team in Derby. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of machined parts using a QCT CMM Machine, following inspection plans based on engineering drawings, and analyzing inspection data to identify deviations and non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of machined parts using a QCT CMM Machine
  • Follow inspection plans based on engineering drawings
  • Analyze inspection data to identify deviations and non-conformances
  • Generate detailed inspection reports documenting findings and recommendations
  • Maintain calibration records for standard quality measuring equipment
  • Identify potential quality issues and proactively suggest corrective actions
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of quality control processes
  • Communicate effectively with production personnel and engineers regarding inspection results
Requirements:
  • A good knowledge of inspection equipment
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience of working within an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Preferably have previous experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or a related field
  • Proven experience using optical measuring machines
  • Solid understanding of dimensional measurement principles and techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
What We Offer:

A competitive salary, flexible holiday entitlement, and free onsite parking. The working hours for this role are on a flexi-time basis, 37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00. This is a straight day shift, and there may be overtime available.
