About the Role

The Teaching Assistant Apprentice will provide vital support to young pupils, promoting their personal, social, and academic development. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and want to make a positive impact on the lives of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with their personal needs, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
  • Supervise and support pupils to ensure their safety and access to learning.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding to individual needs.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Support pupils to act independently as appropriate.
  • Be a good role model through effective communication and interactions with all pupils.
  • Have awareness of the Early Years Curriculum, KS1 or KS2, key values, and the importance of learning through play.
  • Support pupils in respect of local and national learning strategies, such as literacy, numeracy, and early years, as directed by the teacher.
  • Support pupils to understand instructions.
  • Support pupils in using basic ICT as directed.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment/resources as directed by the teacher and assist pupils in their use.
Requirements
  • Maths and English GCSE/Equivalent Pass
