Cover Supervisor

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join our team at New Directions Holding. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining classroom behaviour and ensuring pupils stay on task in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake whole class supervision in the absence of the class teacher, setting work previously prepared by the teacher
- Develop curricular knowledge as required by the school
- Apply the school's behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the class teacher/head teacher
- Set homework previously prepared by the teacher
- Mark elements of class work and homework under the guidance of the class teacher
- Undertake observations of the pupils and contribute to pupil records
- Administer (and mark) class tests
- Supervise the work of the teaching assistant
- Abide by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
- Carry out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy

Requirements:
- Experience working with children or managing/coaching a group of people
- Good communication skills and ability to manage groups
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work on a day-to-day supply basis or long-term placements
