Job Title: Field Customer Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Field Customer Service Engineer to join our team in Cambridge and surrounding areas. As a Field Customer Service Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting health and safety checks and general maintenance on CNC machines at various engineering companies in your region.

This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary, fully expensed van and tools, and a range of benefits including a pension, lunch allowance, and breakfast allowance for early starts. You will also have access to extensive training and development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience running CNC milling machines, setting and operating 4 or 5 axis high-speed machines, and conducting maintenance checks. You will need a full driving license and be comfortable working independently in a field-based role.

As a Field Customer Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting health and safety checks on CNC machines
  • Inspecting machine guarding, door interlocks, and emergency stops
  • Checking the condition of vision panels, rail wipers, and axis drive belts
  • Adjusting gibs and checking axis ballscrews
  • Discovering taper issues on the spindle and checking rotation and belt tension
  • Inspecting turret brake discs and pads, main drive belts, and hydraulic oil condition and level
  • Checking for pneumatic leaks and battery condition
  • Inspecting rotary switches and checking for leaks
