The successful candidate will work closely with bed management processes to facilitate seamless patient flow and collaborate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at the Haven unit to deliver high-quality patient care. In the Worthing Crisis Team, you will work alongside medical staff based on acute wards, providing specialist psychiatric assessments, treatments, and aftercare services to patients in crisis aged 18 and above who have been referred to the team.

You will provide clinical leadership and line management to junior medical staff reporting directly to you. This position also presents opportunities for professional growth, enabling you to develop posts and take on educational and clinical supervision of GP or core mental health trainees and higher trainees, subject to agreement by the locality tutor.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • An MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • A qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management would be desirable.
  • MRCPsych certification would be advantageous.
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
  • A wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable services.
