Job OverviewThis role involves working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide targeted support for children with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school.
- Support the learning and development of children with SEN
- Implement individual education plans tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and resources
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem in students
- Assist with behaviour management and provide emotional support when needed
- Provide feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents regarding student progress
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient personality
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Relevant qualifications in SEN or Teaching Assistance are an advantage
