The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional supervision and support to staff, as well as contributing to the management and development of students and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Professional Supervision: Provide reflective monthly supervision and support to staff, ensuring Personal Development Reviews are completed in line with departmental policy.
  • Staff Development: Support the management and development of students on placements, newly qualified staff, and experienced social workers.
  • Assessment and Planning: Undertake assessments, reassessments, and reviews, planning and implementing interventions as necessary, including Mental Capacity Act Assessments and Best Interests procedures.
  • Representation and Advice: Act as a representative of the Council, providing advice on professional issues, including quality assurance and performance.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Utilize extensive knowledge of relevant legal frameworks, national and local structures, policies, procedures, and standards to protect the rights, safety, and wellbeing of service users and carers.
  • Record Keeping and Evaluation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, contributing to the evaluation and analysis of recording and the use of information systems to inform good practice and maintain a focus on positive outcomes.
  • Continual Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
