Main Responsibilities

As an Advanced Practitioner in General Practice, you will be responsible for undertaking structured surgeries in an autonomous role, managing patients presenting with new acute problems or exacerbations of chronic disorders.

You will also be a training and mentoring resource for peers and hosted trainees, promoting continuity of care and building long-term relationships with patients.

The practice has a diverse population of around 9200 patients, and you will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to meet their needs, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Good communication and computer literacy skills
  • Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, and common sense to respond to patient needs
  • Positive attitude towards change and ability to adapt to new situations
  • Current driving licence and use of a car
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Completed MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Level 7 V300 Non-Medical Prescribing or equivalent
  • Minor ailment and injury module at BSc/Msc level
  • Evidence of PREP
Experience
  • Several years post-registration experience
  • Experience working in general practice
  • Experience managing long-term conditions
  • Experience in minor illness, clinical decisions, and telephone triage
  • Experience working autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
