Strategic Leadership Role for Skills Development

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to lead our skills development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive skills development strategy that aligns with our business goals and the needs of our stakeholders and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for skills development that meets the needs of our stakeholders and communities.
- Lead a team of Assistant Directors and Heads of Department to ensure the delivery of high-quality skills training programmes.
- Collaborate with the Executive Management Team to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation in skills development.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of training programmes to ensure they meet the latest industry standards and learner/employer needs.
- Develop and manage the directorate's annual budget to ensure resources are allocated effectively to meet strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employers, industry bodies, commissioners, and regulatory agencies.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and meetings to advocate for the importance of skills training and development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, human resources, or a related field.
- Minimum Level 5 leadership and management qualification.
- Minimum Level 5 Education and Training qualification.
- Minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 in English and maths.
- Driving licence and car available for use.
- Master's degree in education, leadership, or a related field (desirable).
- Professional qualifications in training, education, or project management (desirable).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the current skills landscape, including key industry trends and workforce needs.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements in the adult education and training sector.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and online training delivery.
