Pyramid8 Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Group Transport Planner to join our client's team in Heckmondwike. As a key member of the operational team, you will be responsible for coordinating loads and drivers to ensure efficient and safe transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate routes to optimize fleet utilization and reduce costs.
- Manage driver records and ensure compliance with transport laws and regulations.
- Prepare quotations and understand costs involved in performing contracts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with drivers and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in transport management.
Requirements:
- At least three years' experience in transport route planning with a good understanding of UK geography and drivers' hours.
- Commercial experience in preparing quotations and understanding costs involved in performing contracts.
- Strong knowledge of transport logistics and technical regulations.
- Proficiency in Transport Management Systems such as Vigo, TachoMaster, FleetCheck, Matrix Telematics, and PDAs.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or having worked for a member of the Road Haulage Association would be advantageous.
- FORS experience and knowledge of the Fleet Operating Recognition Scheme, ideally working for a FORS Silver or Gold Operator.
