Strategic Financial Director for Youth Foundation

At the KFC Youth Foundation, we're embarking on an exciting journey to become a service delivery organisation, creating hubs that provide a safe and secure space for young people who need it most. We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Financial Director to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving our financial strategy forward.

About the Role

The Strategic Financial Director will be responsible for overseeing the Foundation's finances, providing critical support and analysis to inform decision-making for the Trustees and Foundation Manager. This is a hands-on role that requires a mix of strategic and operational tasks, with a strong focus on maintaining best practice financial controls and budgetary oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with the Foundation's overall objectives and goals.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Prepare and monitor the annual budget, ensuring it accurately reflects the Foundation's financial position and is aligned with the overall strategy.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Provide timely and accurate financial reports to the Trustees and Foundation Manager, including analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Manage and maintain the Foundation's financial systems and processes, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and aligned with best practice.
  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee the Foundation's cash flow, including forecasting, managing cash reserves, and implementing strategies to optimize cash flow.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the Foundation's financial stability and security.

About You

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced financial professional who can bring strategic thinking and leadership to our team. You will have a proven track record in financial management, with a strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis. You will be a confident decision-maker who is comfortable with change and can work well under pressure.

Requirements

  • Proven Financial Management Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a financial role, preferably within the charity sector.
  • Strong Financial Skills: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to lead and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Trustees, Foundation Manager, and staff.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with the Foundation's overall objectives and goals.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £50,000, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
