Study Skills Role Overview

We are seeking an Academic Support Specialist to contribute to the enhancement of the student experience at Global Applied Knowledge. The successful candidate will deliver workshops and one-on-one sessions focusing on academic skills, including writing, research, time management, and exam preparation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching academic literacies and digital skills to students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Designing and documenting bespoke courses, digital resources, workshop plans, and individual schemes of work to develop study skills in our curricula.
  • Evaluating teaching and identifying areas for improvement to enhance the quality of teaching and student experience.
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring student attendance to ensure compliance and quality standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Master's degree or PhD in the relevant area.
  • Successful track record of teaching adult learners on HE programmes.
  • Proven experience in providing individual and group study skills support.
  • Willingness to lead literacy development in reading, writing, critical thinking, numeracy, digital skills, research skills, or project support.
  • High-level digital literacy and advanced communication skills.

Estimated Salary: £42,500 per annum, depending on experience.
