The Passenger Transport Team at Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is responsible for managing the Council's passenger transport requirements. This includes mainstream home to school transport and Additional Educational Needs Transport. The team works closely with schools, parents, transport operators, social workers, and senior officers to ensure that transport services are provided efficiently and effectively.
About the Position
This post involves leading on various aspects of passenger transport management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing entitlement to free transport for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), procuring and managing contracts for ALN school transport, coordinating Children and Adult Services transport arrangements, and liaising with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as transportation management or public administration, and proven experience in transportation management or a related field. They will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
