Job Title: Principal Transport Planner (Policy)

Leeds City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Planner to lead the development and delivery of sustainable transport solutions for the city. As a Principal Transport Planner (Policy), you will play a key role in shaping the city's transport strategy and ensuring that it aligns with the Council's ambitions for a healthy, zero-carbon, and inclusive city.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in transport planning, with a focus on policy development and implementation. You will be responsible for leading the Transport Strategy team, working closely with the Head of Transport Strategy, Transport Planning Manager, and other stakeholders to deliver a range of transport projects and initiatives. This will include developing and implementing sustainable transport schemes, working with partners across the region, and ensuring that the city's transport strategy is aligned with the Council's overall vision for a sustainable and prosperous future.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Transport Planner who can bring a range of skills and expertise to this role. You will have a strong understanding of transport planning principles and practices, as well as experience of working in a policy development and implementation role. You will be able to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, and have a strong ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.
