Principal Accountant Opportunity

Connect2Luton, a recruitment managed service for Luton Borough Council, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Accountant to join their Corporate Finance Team. This exciting short-term role offers a unique opportunity to lead on key financial areas and contribute to the council's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation of the council's budget and Medium Term Financial Plan, including scenario analysis and interaction with other strategies.
  • Implement the requirements of the CIPFA Financial Management Code and recommendations from Corporate Peer Challenge Review.
  • Monitor and report on the council's deficit recovery plan, including transformation savings and financial due diligence.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Budget Report and information provided to Policy Group and other Committees.
