About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disabilities, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health care and treatment for patients with severe and enduring mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality mental health care and treatment for patients with severe and enduring mental illness
  • Manage, appraise, and give professional supervision to junior medical staff
  • Work with a highly specialist multi-disciplinary team to provide outstanding care
  • Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
