Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Economic Regulation to join our team at Smart DCC. As a key member of our Economic Regulation team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our economic regulation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and submission of our annual price control reviews
  • Develop and implement new in-period processes for monitoring performance and conducting a retrospective 'true-up' of costs
  • Collaborate with our Senior Leadership Team and Strategy and Regulation team to ensure the transition from ex-post to ex-ante price controls operates in a controlled and planned way
  • Provide expert advice on the current and future economic regulatory framework to ensure the business fully understands the economic regulatory requirements within a regulated monopoly

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in providing strategic advice to senior level decision-makers in regulatory businesses or government
  • Ability to provide thought leadership for the development of new regulatory regimes and regulatory changes
  • Excellent communication skills and senior stakeholder management expertise
  • Demonstrable experience of authoring high-quality documentation and briefing notes
