Job Title: Senior Counsel

Jump Trading Group is a leading quantitative trading and investment firm seeking an experienced senior lawyer to join our global legal team in London. As a Senior Counsel, you will play a key role in serving the legal needs of our EMEA offices, with an initial focus on employment-related matters.

About the Role:
  • Advise and work on non-contentious and contentious employment-related matters across EMEA, including recruitment, performance management, terminations, restrictive covenants, immigration, and data privacy.
  • Collaborate with our People Operations teams to develop and improve employment processes and procedures.
  • Provide legal guidance on a wide range of business initiatives and transactions across the region, with a strong focus on London/EMEA.
  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts, including IT/software licensing agreements, leases, and vendor agreements.
  • Manage outside counsel on various matters and partner with legal and compliance personnel around the world.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in applicable laws and regulations affecting the firm, particularly in employment law across the EMEA region.
  • Oversee the proper functioning of the firm's control and governance arrangements.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years' legal experience as a UK qualified lawyer, with a substantial portion of that experience in private practice.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing employment documentation, as well as experience in contentious employment matters.
  • Substantial experience working in and knowledge of regulations related to employment law in various countries in the EMEA region and beyond, with a particular focus on the UK, Amsterdam, France, and Germany.
  • Experience working with the financial sector is preferred.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic culture where employment-related issues are addressed in an individualized and bespoke manner.
  • Aptitude for explaining complex legal issues to business partners.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and offices with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
