About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Finance Director to join our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking owner-managed business in the engineering sector. As a key member of the senior management team, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's ambitious growth plan to double in turnover over the next 3-5 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the business goals and objectives
    • Conduct financial analysis, evaluate financial performance, and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance
    • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities
    • Develop accurate and realistic financial forecasts
    • Manage the production and present comprehensive financial reports to the executive team and board of directors
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
    • Ensure the development and retention of key finance personnel
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
    • Participate in leading internal and external audits
Requirements
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven track record in developing, leading and motivating a high performing finance department
  • Innovative & continuous improvement mentality with the ability to automate processes
  • Up-to-date technical skills and confident preparing UK statutory accounts
  • Confidence communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Hands on, enthusiastic with a 'can do' attitude adept at working in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute effectively to the overall business strategy
