Job Overview

Bournemouth and Poole College is seeking a qualified Hairdressing Instructor to join our team. As an integral part of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in the field of hairdressing.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of £28,372 - £39,198 per annum, plus excellent benefits including 39.5 days annual leave, up to 4 days leave during the Christmas closure period, free parking at our college sites, access to discount schemes, and enrolment into the Teachers' Pension Scheme.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced educator who can provide a flexible and responsive approach to students in the training or work-place environments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, managing, and supporting curriculum teams
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of educational programs, including identifying learning objectives, determining, designing, and producing study materials, planning course/study program delivery
  • Conducting skills development and competence assessments as required
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Teaching Qualifications (or evidence of working towards)
  • Up to Level 3 National Professional (vocational) qualifications in Hairdressing
  • Assessor & IQA Awards
  • Experience of facilitating learning for students in a Further Education setting
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in the field(s) of expertise in hairdressing services
  • Excellent organizational skills
