Senior Sustainability and Net Zero Consultant – Housing Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sustainability and Net Zero Consultant to join our Housing Sustainability and Net Zero team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting housing sustainability programmes and delivering net zero carbon projects.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability and net zero policy, with experience in managing complex projects and working with stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing business cases, managing projects, and supporting clients in achieving their net zero goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage junior consultants and support their professional development
- Develop business cases for new service areas and expand our reach to cover new clients and sectors
- Lead project management, including client liaison, team resource management, and budget management
- Support social landlords and public sector bodies in delivering net-zero strategies and investment programmes
- Analyse housing asset data to benchmark energy performance and develop investment scenarios
- Support social landlords in measuring environmental performance and developing ESG strategies
- Contribute to the delivery of current industry assistance programmes, including the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator
Requirements:
- Degree qualified or equivalent relevant work experience in sustainability or environment-related topics
- Systematic approach to project management and experience in managing complex projects
- Demonstrable experience in interpreting and using data to drive decarbonisation and asset planning
- Strong subject matter expertise in net zero and ESG policy and strategy in the social housing sector
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop succinct and accurate communications
- Great problem-solving skills and ability to adopt the most suitable approach for clients and the team
