Experienced Teaching Assistant Lead

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with a Special Educational Needs School in Selly Oak. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, promoting inclusion, and using effective behaviour management strategies.
Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Promoting, supporting, and facilitating inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
- Using effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures.
- Supporting class teachers with maintaining good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- Organising and managing teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
- Covering and leading class teaching (under supervision) as and when appropriate.
- DIRECTING THE WORK OF OTHER ADULTS IN SUPPORTING LEARNING AS APPROPRIATE.
- Contributing to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording, and reporting of pupil performance and progress as appropriate to the level of the role.
- Preparing the classroom for lessons.
- Utilising allocated time to devise clearly structured activities that interest and motivate learners and advance their learning.
Benefits and Salary
The salary for this role is £35,000 per annum, plus a range of benefits, including market-leading rates of pay, access to CPD courses and certificates through the My-Progression channel, and eligibility for TeacherActive's Referral Scheme, which rewards referrals with up to £200.
