About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our team at a thriving secondary school in Fareham. As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and school standards.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Classroom Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and strategies, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Support the school's commitment to extracurricular activities by contributing to Geography-related clubs, field trips, and events.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Geography.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and current educational practices, possess excellent classroom management skills, and be enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to fostering a love of learning in all students.
  • Professional Development: Show willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Teamwork: Be prepared to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.
