Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream Primary School in Richmond. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of the SENCO to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching to pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENCO and teaching staff in delivering quality learning and teaching to pupils with SEND
  • Encourage participation and independence in learning among pupils with SEND
  • Work with pupils who have a range of additional and complex SEND, including ADHD, ASC, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech language and communication needs, and resistant behavior
  • Undertake specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and strong attainment across GCSE and A-Level
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and student behaviors
  • Good understanding of how children learn and previous knowledge of ASC and ADHD
  • Good organizational skills and a positive, resilient mindset
